Q: Why are events neccessary?
A: To be visable...

  • I care whether my sons lose their jobs because they are gay. 
  • I care whether my lesbian friends cannot share public accommodations or whether my transgender friend cannot express herself in an educational or job setting. 
  • I care if the renter next door cannot be a gay couple. 
  • I care deeply that ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) was defeated last year and I was so disheartened when the gender identity clause was removed.

Q: Are you an educator needing a resource to request guest speakers?

A: If yes, then consider hosting a “PFLAG Panel Discussion” - PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Lubbock promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons and their families and friends through support, education, and advocacy to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Members of PFLAG Lubbock will be happy to speak to your class about issues relevant to GLBTQ students and their family and friends. Please contact the President at president@pflaglubbock.org with questions or to schedule this program in your classroom
